I feel you. I got you. As a lipstick junkie I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve reached for a badass color and then went, “Aw crap, NOW WHAT?” And since typically lipstick is the last thing we apply, we don’t always give it the spotlight it deserves. (I see you reaching for that safe nude lip.) So if you’ve got a lippie you love but you never wear it because you don’t know what the hell to do with it, this tutorial is for you. It is a little more in-depth so in case you want the 30,000 ft summary here it is: keep everything else neutral. And I don’t just mean pick neutral colors. Use a combination of both warm and cool tones to make sure you really have a true balance. For example, in my crease I use two transition shades: one more warm (Tuffed Suede from Too Faced) and one more cool (Petal blush from Gabriel cosmetics).
